Thanksgiving 2011

It seems just a year ago that I dived into blogging.  Unsure what to do, I found my way around and got my first post up.  It was my first attempt to cook a turkey, Thanksgiving 2010.  A lot has happened since then.  Throughout the year, I have a lot of things that I am thankful for.

I am forever indebted to my best friend, Manel, who listens when I need someone to talk to and keeps me believing in a dream when my faith starts to waver. I am grateful for my family, who has backed me up with the personal changes I did this year.  It feels so good to have my sister, Ayen,  who encourages and listens each time I feel unsure and uncertain.  I am grateful for the little people in my life, Jeremy, Gabby, Anne and Annelene, who brightens up my day with tight welcoming hugs and makes me forget my work even for a moment.  I thank my GSK friends who even with distance still reconnects with me despite me changing radically. I appreciate that we are moving towards a new phase of our friendship where a comforting promise of growing old hiking in Algoquin.  I appreciate to also have such good friends, Valerie and Natalia, who shares my passion and supports what I do.  I am grateful of the new people I meet in my course to become the professional photographer I dream about. Grateful of their generosity of sharing what they know and showing me how I can grow further.  I also want to thank my Toronto family, Jojo, Tere, Anthony, Ayen and the little people, who agreed that Thanksgiving would be my annual dinner to share with them.  Every other occasion they welcome me in their homes and I thought this is my way to give back.

Lastly, I thank the heavens above, making me remember how I did my turkey last year.  I was a mass of nerves then, worrying if I did it right.  This year, the experience was more relaxed and certain.  This would be another tradition. :)
