Last Thursday I witnessed the launch of MealShare Toronto, a buy-one-give-one initiative of private restaurant businesses which is to donate a meal of a recipient charity for every mealshare menu item ordered. Such a novel idea that a diner could help. MealShare menu items in participating restaurants once purchased could be matched and be given to someone in need. So when I read the invitation to come to Pizzeria Libretto for the MealShare Toronto launch that Abbey Sharpe of Abbey’s Kitchen sent me, I was compelled to come.
Walking in Pizzeria Libretto, I was directed to go downstairs and I found that there were already a crowd waiting for the event to start. It was attended both by food influencers, bloggers and owners alike and representatives of the charities that MealShare Toronto has partnered with. Reading their information material, I found out that some of my most favourite restaurants are participating in this program like The Richmond Station and Khao San Road. Now I don’t really need any more reasons to love these two restaurants more than I already do, but to be able to offer a MealShare item in these quality restaurants just like Pizza Libretto, means a lot. It just makes it easy for diners like me to give and feel good that someone somewhere would be sharing the meal with me.
Click this link here to see all the participants of the MealShare Toronto program. Please consider dining at these restaurants and ordering the MealShare item to make this program successful. We need more restaurants to come on board and if we keep on supporting MealShare Toronto, it just might happen that this list would grow longer.
Thank you for the invitation, Abbey and MealShare Toronto! I would surely talk about your program to as many people I could reach. :)
P.S. Pizzeria Libretto has the Duck Confit with Bosc Pears Pizza as a MealShare menu item. Now isn’t that motivation enough for you to go to Pizzeria Libretto and support MealShare Toronto?
