Happy Thanksgiving 2015!

It has been weeks since my last post.   I must confess I haven’t been eating out too much lately.  The past few weeks I have test-driven new recipes in my kitchen.  Yes!  I do cook.  I have wanted a new menu from my usual as this year I have a lot to be thankful for.  I was obsessively planning a menu to show how grateful I am of the blessings  that came my way.   I had my dinner with family and friends last Saturday and the whole thing took a good lonnnng prepping but it was worth every minute. Too many dishes, as always – turkey, stuffing, rosemary roast beef, butternut squash soup, siracha-infused cranberry relish, roasted veggies glazed with maple syrup and basmati rice. Cool line-up eh?

So what am I thankful for? As I worked in a frenzy in my kitchen, I was also reflecting how good the past year has been. Amidst all the chaos, I find it therapeutic to remind myself of why my Thanksgiving dinner had to be special.

I am so thankful of having the chance to see family in the Philippines once again and create new memories. My vacation in Cebu was a myriad of countless new stories.  Thank you Team Manago for making it there.  There should definitely be a repeat!

I am thankful of the family I have created here in Toronto.  Through all the ups and downs, I know you guys have my back.  Seeing the whole dinner come together and see my family enjoy it was all the thanks I need.  Sharing a meal definitely made me feel content and it melted all the tiredness away.

I am thankful for the milestone of seeing Daniella Silver’s book, The Silver Platter, came into reality and was completely styled and photographed by EyeCandyTO.  Sharing the high with Abe Wornovitzky made it even better.

I am so moved with rekindled friendships that has become dormant when I left GSK.  It seems to me that this year I have seen them more than the times I have seen them over the last 5 years.  I am grateful that at each time I saw them this year, there were no gaps to be filled.  We just picked up where we left off.

As grateful I am of having reliable old friends, I am thankful of the new friendships that I have made in my new workplace, Taro.  Through the years I have seen many friends come and go.  To find new ones is definitely a blessing one should nourish and allow to grow.

And of course, to all my followers, thank you for reading all my musings. WordPress just gave me notification that it has been 5 years since I started this blog. It doesn’t really feel like it has been 5 years.  It is such an amazing thought that we sustained the life of this blog.   It helps me do more knowing you are still there following.

This list could just go on and on.  Big and small blessings, I am thankful for all of it.  I hope you get to experience it too! Happy Thanksgiving weekend, one and all! :)
